Course Description: The course is deceivingly harder than it looks, mainly rolling hills, with long gradual grades you don’t really think are up hill until you run them. There is one bigger hill on the course, but it’s only about 200 meters long. The course is 99% grass with three road crossings. The course will be open to run the day before the meet, all day. I will be at the course at 3:30 for anyone who will want a map of the course the day before. Maps will be available the morning of as well.
Start times: The girls will run first at 4:45pm (5k) Boys will follow at 5:15pm (5K) middle school races to follow (3K) girls 5:45pm followed by boys 6:15pm. There is no JV race, those athletes can run in the varsity races as there is no limit on the number you can enter.
Entries: Entries are being done on racetimeentry.com and will close Tuesday September 6th at 6pm. There will be unlimited entries per team. Please let me know if you intend to run as soon as you can, this will give me an idea of how many teams we can expect.
Entry Fee: $75 dollars per team (Men and Women are separate) 10 dollars per entry if less than 5 runners. Make Checks payable to: CU Foundation, with cross country in the memo. You can pay with cash the day of as well. Bring checks or mail to: Mike Cox PO Box 1000 Campus box 77 Athens WV 24739
Awards: Top 20 individuals in each race will receive awards. 1st and 2nd place teams will receive awards.
Porto-Johns will be available on-site
Lodging: There are cabins and hotel rooms in Pipestem State Park. Pipestem has food at the main lodge. Too, there are several places to stay in Princeton off of exit 9 on interstate 77.
Food: There are several places to eat in Princeton, off of exit 9 on interstate 77. Moe’s and Gino’s in Athens are other options.
