BIG DITCH INVITATIONAL NOTES

The course is the same this year as it has been for the past 7 years.  The map is for the high school race.  The red line on the photo is the run out to the turning point.  The blue line is once you turn and start back towards the finish line.  There is one major hill called deer berry on the way back.  It has a sign at the bottom of it that says “coyote pass”.  It is where the blue line breaks away from the red line on the map.  The rest of the course if flat to slightly rolling. 

The middle school runners will simply do 1 lap all the way around the lake as they have always done in the past.  There is a slight veer away from the lake through the upper parking lot; but we will have it marked with ribbon and course guides will be there.  We will have the course marked off Monday evening so it will be open to inspection all day Tuesday. 

We will be serving concessions and selling t shirts.  Cost of admission is $5.00 per adult, $3.00 per student, and 6 and under free.  We are also selling really high quality race shirts.  There are limited quantities so you may want to buy one as soon as you get there.  Please make sure spectators pay their entry fee and we encourage you to buy a t shirt and concessions from us.  This is how we are able to pay for the abundance of awards, chip timing, and our entry fees into races. 

Top 20 in each race medal.  Top 3 teams in each race medal. 

Buses, please pull into the main lot and unload your runners.  After that, please pull back down to the junction of Rt. 20 and Rt. 82.  That is where the buses will park during the race.  The buses will be able to come back to the start line and pick the runners up upon completion of the race. 

Parking is limited so carpool if possible. There are nice maintained trails to walk from the parking areas to the start and finish line.
