This one should be a nice battle. Doddridge and Williamstown have battled back and forth all
season with Doddridge taking the first two meetings, Williamstown taking the next two, and
Doddridge taking the rubber match at the LKC Championships. I came out of the picks with
Doddridge getting the win by 9 points, but this could certainly go either way. St. Marys
appears to have a pretty good lock on the 3rd spot. Things get very close after that with
4th through 6th separated by just 9 points.

Predicted Class A Girls Top 25
Alyssa Sauro comes in as the favorite. She was completely dominant for the bulk of the season,
but Lexie Lamb knocked her off by almost 30 seconds at the LKC Meet. However, every other meet
against in-state competition, she won by a minute or more, so she remains a solid favorite. Lexie
Lamb is clearly the only other competition for the top spot. Katie Cottrill is slotted in the
3rd position. She's held that spot for most of the season and should be back on the line after
missing the Regional meet. Brianna Winsett is tabbed for the 4th spot. She did knock off
Cottrill early in the season. Madison Stonestreet is pegged for 5th after a strong Regional
run. Virginia Haddox is the pick for 6th. She does own 3 wins over Stonestreet, though, and
a win over Winsett. Bailey Holden is into the 7th spot. She's been pretty consistent and
has beaten each of the three above her at least once each. Katie Hicks is in the 8th spot.
She holds that ranking and has come on strong late in the season as she did last year.
Aurlia Kirby slides up into the 9th spot based on her strong Regional race. Baylee Jarrett
is tabbed for the final podium spot. She was right behind Kirby at their Regional and
was 5th in last year's State Meet. This whole batch of picks from top to bottom is really
kind of a mess with this runner beating that one picked above her in this meet but losing to
that runner picked below her in that meet. There is definitely some inconsistency in the field,
so those who are "on" for the day stand to pick up spots. I think we go down past 20 to
find those that could sneak their way onto the podium.
