Meet: Class AA Boys State Meet Predictions

Predicted Class AA Boys Team Results
Winfield has great top end strength and looks to ride that to the title. I have them
up 19 on Frankfort. Frankfort has put together great runs the last couple State Meets.
Another this year, and they're right in the thick of things. The 4-5 spots are the
tipping points for this race. Frankfort is actually a little tough to gauge this year
because they've rarely squared off with anyone else in the field. I think it will be
very tough for anyone else to reach the podium. I have East Fairmont edging out Oak
Glen for the 3rd spot, which would be a reversal of their finish at the Regional Meet.
Shady Spring and Wayne will need some standout performances to crack that top 3.

Predicted Class AA Boys Top 25
Matthew Scheneberg has been the top dog in Class AA all season. There have been a couple close
races, wins by just 2 and 3 seconds, with both being over teammat Brayden Marshall. Marshall is
slotted into the 2nd spot. I'm moving Garrett Ferguson up into the 3rd spot. The Regional was
his first opportunity to race any of the other top end Class AA guys and he won it pretty easily.
Jacob Dowdy is dropped into the 4th position. He battled Scheneberg and Marshall in a pair of
early season meets and acquitted himself very well. Charlie Smoak is slated for 5th. Like the
Frankfort group, Smoak hasn't battled anyone else at the top end. He did have one battle in the
first meet of the season, but the relevance of that meet is limited. I've put Steven Kent
Niland into the 6th spot following an excellent Regional run. Konnor Allison is in the 7th spot.
He beat Smoak in that season opening meet. Landon Brumfield is slated for 8th. He knocked off
Allison early in the season and had a statistically better Regional run. I moved Peyton Slider
up into the 9th slot following his excellent Regional showing and his step up performance from
a year ago. I have Chace Thompson in that final podium spot, which should be pretty hotly contested.
