Awards: Plagues will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams as well as the top 3 finishers in each race. Medals will be awarded to 4th through 15th place finishers in each race.

Rosters: Varsity teams will consist of seven runners. See the “notes” section regarding the starting line. Team scores will be decided by the top five finishers in each race. Ties will be decided by the finishing place of each teams sixth runner. If either team does not have a sixth runner, ties will be decided by the teams 5th finisher.

Course: The course is a challenging technical course made up of rolling hills through a ½ mile wooded area and fields encircling the fairgrounds with a flat, fast finish. There is a brief section along a gravel road. The entire course is very spectator friendly. The course maps will be loaded to www.runwv.com closer to the race date and will be on limited supply to each team on race day.

Entry Fees:  Entry is $25 per team for both HS and MS ($40 if both boys and girl are fielding teams). $5 each for those with less than complete teams. There will be a $5 per person admission fee at the gates for all spectators. Coaches, athletes, AD’s, and all entrants with a current coaches card will be admitted at no cost.

Entry: To enter, please visit the timing company website at www.smileymiles.com and search the event date and name. Please fill out the attached spreadsheet on the site and e-mail your rosters to the timing coordinator at bonnherb@yahoo.com and copy me at christopher.premo@yahoo.com so I can keep track of how many teams are attending to set up the starting area. Please allow time prior to the meet to check rosters and bibs to make corrections. Corrections need to be completed prior to the coaches meeting.

Deadline: All entries must be received no later than midnight on the evening of Thursday, August the 26th.

Notes: There will be an open concession stand, T-shirt company, and bathroom facilities on site. There is also a small playground for smaller children to enjoy. There fairgrounds are located two miles past Rivesville on Rt 119N. If you are coming from North of Morgantown get off at the Westover (Morgantown Mall) exit and follow Rt 119S approximately 11miles to the fairgrounds.

***Important Notes**

Due to the continued effects of the COVID situation there will still be a few standing requests to ensure a safe environment:

·         Please use best practices and social distancing around the course, concession stand, and t-shirt sales area.

·         Please set up tents to allow for distancing between teams.

·         All buses MUST park in the far lot at the fairgrounds or at the middle school. No busses will be permitted to park along the course or in the main staging areas.

·         Only handicapped spectators and coaches are permitted to park in the main staging area. If you are carrying a tent or supplies you may pull up to unload but must park in the designated general parking areas.

·         The starting line will be spaced out so there is ample room between each varsity team (top 7 athletes). There will be a second starting line approximately 10-15 feet behind the varsity line to accommodate JV runners. There is no limit to the number of entries for each team.
