THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE KANAWHA CONFERENCE MS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

The LKC MS Championship Cross Country Meet has a surprisingly short history, but it is probably worth telling. Let us hope that this meet will stand the test of time. In 2005 an attempt to begin the meet was started. With little interest, overall, Doddridge County MS & Gilmer County MS traveled to Ellenboro to battle Ritchie County MS for LKC “Bragging Rights”. That first year, Ritchie won the boys’ division, while Doddridge won the girls’ division. With more interest from other LKC teams the meet was resumed in 2009.
