Coaches and
Athletes,
We would
like to welcome you to the 2021 Chick-fil-A Invitational! Our goal is to ensure all of you have a wonderful
experience and we will do everything possible to achieve that goal! If you have any questions, the meet director
is Mike Taylor, and he would be happy to assist you. Best of luck to your team and let us know if
there is anything you need!
RACE DAY
INFORMATION:
-The course is
always open for inspection and warm-up.
Please make sure your team stays clear of racing athletes to ensure that
no runner is impeded.
-While walking the course, DO NOT
CROSS THE TIMING MAT AT THE 1 MILE MARK!
-Packet
pick-up is located near the finish line.
-Please
check to make sure all your competing athletes have numbers.
-If you have
an athlete that needs a number, please see an official at the finish line.
-Each race
will start promptly at the time listed on the Revised Meet Schedule.
-Make sure
your athletes arrive at the Start Line 10 – 15 minutes prior to the start of
their race.
-We will
utilize an open start line. Line-up 2
across with remaining team members behind the front two.
-7 runners
or less in the Varsity high school and middle school races. Remaining runners will run JV.
-The use of
wireless communications between coaches during races is STRICTLY
PROHIBITED!
-Runners are
not permitted to wear GPS or any type of smart device, including smart watches,
fitbits, or any device that indicates pace. Standard watches that display a stopwatch are
allowed.
-There will
not be a coaches meeting.
-All WVSSAC
rules will be in effect!
VARSITY

-Finishers
placing 1-10 will receive awards at the awards ceremony.
-Finishers
placing 11-40 will receive their awards at the finish line.
JV AWARDS:
-Finishers
placing 1-10 will receive their awards at the awards ceremony.
-Finishers
placing 11-20 will receive their awards at the finish line.
TEAM
AWARDS:
-Team awards
will be given at the awards ceremony.
GENERAL
INFORMATION:
-All parking
will be at the Wood County Fair Grounds directly across from the Wood County 4H
grounds.
-The 4H
grounds director, Rodney, will be utilizing a tractor and trailer to assist
teams with transporting their equipment to and from the tent area.
-Please
remind your team’s spectators to respect the volunteers working the crossings,
as they are in place to protect both the runners and spectators. Also, please remind them to not stand on the
course, or cross the course when runners are coming through.
-T-shirts
will be sold on site. Chick-fil-A will have food for sale on site.
-Adults
$6.00, Students $5.00.
