Meet: Class AA Girls State Meet Predictions

Predicted Class AA Girls Team Results
Winfield comes in as the solid favorite. The gap is not insurmountable, and they don't have
the depth to have someone have a bad day. I have Wayne in the 2nd spot just 10 points ahead
of Fairmont Senior, who has the best depth in the field. If they were to all run well, they
could easily be right in the thick of the title hunt. Philip Barbour is one of the limited
data teams, having no meets after 9/19 until the Regional. They definitely have some quality
and have had big State Meet performances in the past. East Fairmont, while another 25 points
back, is actually a threat for a podium spot. They have been highly inconsistent, but if they
would all put it together at the same time, they could certainly at least put a scare into
those first four teams. It looks like those five have a gap on the remainder of the field.

Predicted Class AA Girls Top 25
There were some really tough segments to pick in this one. The first being right at the top
with Erykah Christopher, Rachel Withrow, and Lydia Falkenstein each having legitimate arguments
for the spot. Falkenstein has beaten Christopher. Christopher has beaten Falkenstein. Withrow
has beaten Falkenstein. Ultimately, I went with Erykah Christopher to repeat as Champion on the
strength of the Regional performance. I went with Rachel Withrow for the 2nd spot as her win over
Falkenstein was by a significant margin...moreso than Christopher's Regional gap. Lydia Falkenstein
gets the 3rd spot at that point. Jalynn Browning has had a lot of meets but has been very good
in all of them and gets the 4th spot. Emily Williamson rebounded from a bad outing to have a solid
Regional run and gets the nod for 5th. Olivia Williamson was right behind her at the Regional and
beat her at the Autumn Classic in their previous meet. Audrey Williams had a statistically better
Regional run than either of them and gets the nod for the 7th spot. Alanna Roberts has been solid
in her few meets and gets the 8th spot. Sophia Arner has been strong all season and gets the 9th
position. I moved Ella Wikel up into the 10th spot, having gained points each time she's ran this season.
That 8 to 12 area was tough, but what was really difficult was the 17-30 stretch.
