Awards
Ceremony Procedures
Our traditional extravaganza
awards ceremony in the gymnasium has been altered this year due to the Covid 19
crisis. Even though during the regular season, awards ceremonies have not been
permitted due to the guidelines set in place, we feel that it is very important
to recognize the top 10 individuals, state champion, and state runner-up teams
at a state championship event. We can do this in a safe environment as long as
people follow the below guidelines.
1.
The ceremony will
take place at the stadium after the completion of the boys
race and results are calculated.
2.
Only teams &
fans that have athletes in the top 10 individuals, the state champion or state
runner-up team can stay for the awards ceremony. Everybody else go back to
their team camp and prepare to leave campus.
3.
Teams and coaches
that are involved will be allowed on the field once results have been
calculated, but everyone must wear a mask and also social distance from other
teams. (Coaches will need to have masks & warm-ups ready for their boys at
the stadium since the awards ceremony will take place very soon after the
completion of the boys race).
4.
All spectators of
athletes involved in the awards ceremony must be outside the fence in the
stands wearing Masks and social distancing as much as possible. All other fans must leave the stadium and
prepare to leave campus.
5.
Coaches and
athletes listen for announcement when to come down on the field and get ready
for awards ceremony. Otherwise stay outside track fence area.
These are the guidelines set in order for the awards
ceremony to take place in a SAFE environment.
Hopefully next year we will be able to return to the
gymnasium, so everybody can enjoy our traditional extravaganza awards ceremony
to showcase the top runners and teams.
