2020 Class A & AA Region II Cross Country Meets

Dear Cross-Country Coach,

Doddridge County High School will be hosting both the 2020 Class A & Class AA Region II Cross Country Meets. (This is providing that we are green or yellow on the Saturday Education Map for Saturday, October 17. I do not know the WVSSAC back up plan at this time.)

Date: Thursday, October 22

Schedule: 12:00noon Girls’ Class A Race

12:45pm Boys’ Class A Race

4:00pm Girls’ Class AA Race

4:45pm Boys’ Class AA Race

Awards: Custom Region II Class AA/A medals will be mailed to the top 20 AA/A runners based on their times in their respective races. (These medals were ordered before we knew that the classes would be separated. These are not provided by the WVSSAC, but will be paid for out of the ticket sales for both meets.)

WVSSAC Plaque for the team champion in each division.

Qualifying for the State Meet:

To qualify as an INDIVIDUAL: Each region will qualify 20% of the total number of contestants that start the regional race to the state meet, inclusive of those individuals that qualified as a team qualifier. A minimum of 10 individuals will qualify from each region. Regular math rounding (.5 & up, round up, below .5, round down) will apply. To qualify as a TEAM: This depends on how many complete teams (5 or more runners) start the race in your regional.  If only 1 full team in your classification starts in your regional, it qualifies.  If 2-5 teams in your classification start at your regional, the top 2 qualify.  If 6-9 teams in your classification start at your regional, the top 3 qualify.  If more than 10 teams in your classification start at your regional, the top 4 qualify.

Miscellaneous: 1) Each school is allowed to enter up to 10 runners for each race, but will only be allowed to run 7 in the meet. Entries must be done using "www.RaceTimeEntry.com". Mailed or faxed entries will not be permitted! We will pull entries on Sunday, October 18. 2) Please make sure that the names of the athletes that you enter are on your eligibility certificate and that they are spelled correctly. 3) Regional schools must pre-sell tickets ($6.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, as required by WVSSAC) and either bring a check to the meet or mail it to my attention to Doddridge County High School, 79 Bulldog Drive, West Union, WV 26456. We most certainly hope to see all of you on October 22nd!
