2020 LKC Cross Country Meet Information

 

Cross Country Coaches,
            We are excited to host the High School LKC Meet for the 2020 season.

 

Date: Thursday, October 15, 2020

Location: Cokeley Recreation Area at North Bend State Park

Hosted by RITCHIE COUNTY Cross Country Teams

 

IMPORTANT COVID 19 Guidelines:

 

 **We will be following / implementing restrictions based on current COVID-19 Guidelines from WVSSAC at the time of the race.

 

**We will NOT be selling admission tickets. These tickets (Household Members and Grandparents only) must be purchased ahead of time through your school’s Athletic Director. A check must be provided for spectators’ tickets as you pickup your team’s packet. Admission: We are asking that all schools pre-sale tickets to the meet. Tickets are $5.00 per person. Children 5 years old and younger are not required to have ticket. Schools will need to submit a check to RCMS Athletics for the total number of tickets sold. Tickets are only to be sold to immediate household family members and grandparents. Tickets will NOT be sold at the gate.

 

**Coaches should remind athletes to remain with their school and not to intermingle with athletes from other schools. Runners should plan to cool down and leave the event upon finishing.

 

**Coaches should encourage athletes to be dressed for the meet prior to arriving.  

 

**Coaches should remind and encourage all athletes and spectators to wear face masks whenever they are not competing and are not social distancing.  Coaches and athletes will be required to have a face mask while in the bull pen/waiting zone. Spectators will NOT be allowed near starting line or in bull pen/waiting area.

 

**We will be using TriStateRacer for timing. We will do our best to keep waves limited and on time. We will try to fill each wave with a full 84 runners. Please have runners ready and in team waiting zone to help our process go smoothly and quickly.

 

**We are asking that buses and spectators to arrive no earlier than 2pm. Please review the following information and let us know if you have any questions.

 

 

Schedule: 
4:30pm – High School Girls Varsity Race (Top 7 – possibly all girls)*

5:15pm – High School Boys Varsity Race (Top 7)

5:20pm – Combined girls and boys JV Race

*currently 83 HS girls are registered

*currently 118 HS boys are registered

 

Awards:

 Will be mailed out after the meet.

 

Teams:  

1st  place team will receive plaque at LKC Banquet

2nd place team will receive plaque

 

Individuals: 

1-12: 1st Team All-Conference will receive plaque at LKC Banquet

13-24: 2nd Team All-conference Medals

 

Location:   The course is located in Cokeley Recreation Area at North Bend State Park on the Harrisville side of the park.  The course is viewer friendly and almost entirely a grass surface.  We will have use of the bathhouse facilities at the campground including restrooms and showers.

 

Directions: We STRONGLY recommend using the Ellenboro exit from RT 50 and follow the signs to North Bend.   For teams coming from the Parkersburg direction the Cairo exit will be a very unpleasant trip to the course especially on a bus.  The entrance to Cokeley Recreation Area is 6.7 miles from US Rt 50 and approximately 1.5 miles from the intersection of Rt 16 & Rt 31 in Harrisville.

We are accepting entries via RaceTimeEntry.com to register.   
The deadline for entry is Monday, October 12, 2020.
