DCHS Region II Preview Meet

Here is some final information for our Region II Preview Meet on Tuesday, September 29, with updates. Please read through this.

Teams: Region II teams participating, today, are Braxton, Clay-Battelle, Doddridge, Elkins, Gilmer, Lewis (Boys Only), Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Pendleton, RCB, Roane, South Harrison, and Trinity. Grafton, Wood County Christian, and Calhoun will be joining us for this meet, as well, because they wanted to run and we had room!

Schedule: 4:00pm Boys Race

4:45pm Girls Race

Note: We have 91 boys registered. If everyone shows up, we may have to run a second wave at 4:05pm. The number of girls registered is under the new limit of 84.

Entry Fees: High School - $40 for each team ($80 for boys & girls)

$8 per runner if you do not have a full team

Make checks payable to “DCHS Athletics”.

Awards: Medals for individual varsity placers 1 – 20

Plaques for 1^st & 2^nd place teams

Awards will not be given out at the meet

Course: Will be the same as the planned regional course. No creek crossings!

Tickets: Someone at your school needs to sell tickets for $5 per person that is eligible to come to the meet. If your county or ours is green or yellow, parents, guardians, siblings, and grandparents are eligible to come

Miscellaneous: We are asking that masks be worn by spectators at all times. Coaches should wear masks when they are going to come close to runners, parents, or spectators. They can unmask if they are running with their runners or running from spot to spot on the course. Runners must wear masks unless they are running. This would include warming up, running from the tent to the starting line, racing, & their cool down run. Pre-sold tickets will be collected at the top of the hill.
