Dear Coaches,
Due to the guidelines for the Covid
19 virus pandemic, we are posting guidelines for our meet at Clay County. The
course is located at Dundon Little League Field. We
look forward to hosting you and having a great meet for the student athletes
even with the Covid 19 limitations.
Entry Checks: May
be mailed to Athletic Director Mary Ramsey or turned in on race day at packet
pick up.
Entries: Please have all entries turned in by September 5th
by 10:00 pm. I will be sending our meet file into APTiming
on Tuesday.
Awards: There will be no awards ceremony. We will be masked and gloved up to
deliver our medals and team trophies to coaches.
Tentative Meet Schedule
Course Opens - 1:30 pm
MS Girls – 2:30 pm (with
rolling wave starts every 5 minutes by APTiming)
MS Boys – 3:00 pm (with
rolling wave starts every 5 minutes by APTiming)
HS Girls – 4:00 pm (with
rolling wave starts every 5 minutes by APTiming)
HS Boys – 4:45 pm (with
rolling wave starts every 5 minutes by APTiming)
**With the rolling wave
starts some races may be slightly delayed. We appreciate your patience.
Buses: We will be directing team buses back to the High
School to park. We have limited parking at our meet. Please make arrangements
with your bus driver for contact information.
T-shirts:
Shirts will be sold near the start line at packet pick up for $15.00.
Tent City: Tent
City will located on the little league field. We will have a separate tent
city for HS/MS. Please maintain social distance guidelines of 6ft from other
teams at all times. Concessions and bathrooms are between the two fields.
Admission: $5.00
per person. Coaches will be selling their own tickets this year. Go to your
Athletic Director and request the desired tickets you need. Take a picture of
the ticket and email it to me along with a list of your athletes and the
household family members beside athlete’s name who bought tickets and are
attending the meet. There will be one entry gate. Spectators will need to give
their name, school team name, and the runner they are there to watch. The
Athletic Director and volunteers will check to see that they are on the list
that was provided ahead of time, and direct them to drop their ticket in a
bucket before being admitted in to the meet.
**Please be aware of your county color coding when
purchasing tickets. Color coding maps come out on Saturdays at 9:00 pm.
Mask up: Everyone in attendance
is required to wear a mask except the runners when they are competing during
their Section races. Spectators & coaches who cheer and yell during a race
risk spreading the virus to others, so a mask is a must. We consider the safety
of the runners, coaches, spectators and staff involved in this meet to be a
priority. Event staff will be on hand to ensure that masks are worn
properly, covering both the nose and mouth and that proper social distancing is
being maintained.
Race Procedures: Teams
should report to starting line at least 10 minutes and no earlier than 15 minutes
before the start of their race. Box assignments will be issued and will appear
on your race packet. Teams are to stay in their box and do strides directly in
front of their box. Avoid other teams during your warm-up. Boxes will be spread
out and no team will be within 6 feet from another team.
Finish
line procedures will be as follows:
· There will be NO finish line chute. Runners are to
cross the line then immediately head back to their team camp.
· There will be no water except for those needing
medical attention from the ambulance.
. Runners may not hang around to watch other races.
** We want everyone to enjoy their time at the
meet and follow guidelines. We look forward to putting on a great meet for your
student athletes.
