The first of the fall 2020 CACSS Town Hall events, Too far, when an athlete's healthy eating habits aren't healthy, will be held virtually on August 27th from 1-2 pm. This event will explore orthorexia, a lesser-known but serious eating disorder characterized by a fixation on food quality that can lead to a wide range of short and long term detriments to an athlete's physical and mental well-being. Panelist will include Dr. Michael Ryan, Coaching and Performance Science Program Coordinator and Morgantown High School’s Head Cross Country, Dr. Dana Voelker, associate professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Dr. Dayna Charbonneau, WVU’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Director of Clinical and Sport Psychology, and Sina King, the Director of Sports Nutrition, Olympic Sports within the WVU Athletic Department. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Kristen Dieffenbach, the director of the Center for Applied Coaching and Sport Science. Register for this free town hall event here.

proud to announce their Fall Town Hall Event series for 2020
This fall, the WVU's Center for Applied Coaching and Sport Science will support coaches, sports leaders, and families in WV through the continuation of their free, online town hall event series. Each event in the series will bring together a unique panel of sport and coaching leaders and experts to explore and discuss important sport science-related topics that impact youth and scholastic athletes and sports. Free live virtual meetings will be hosted through Zoom on August 27, September 24, October 29, November 19, and December 17. Registration details for each event will be posted on the CACSS website. Recordings from spring events can also be accessed through the website.
