Course Description and Details

This course is located about 5 miles south of Historic Hinton, WV. Most guests enjoy mountain bike excursions, ziplining, tubing and boating while visiting Bluestone. Now, everyone can come out and enjoy a Cross Country race that features some of the best Distance Running Athletes in West Virginia. Course features include different types of terrain, road crossings, and hills. The course is spectator friendly.

Parking: There is limited parking up by the course. Buses will drop athletes off at Activities Building and park down at the Fishing Pier. Parking will be available at the Meador Campground and some at the Bluestone Gift Shop.

Entry Fee: Middle School Boys $30. Middle School Girls $30. Both Middle School teams $55. High School Boys $50. High School Girls $50. Both High School teams $90. $10 per entry if team has less than 5 runners. Make checks payable to Summers County High School. You can pay with cash the morning of as well.

Entries: Email entries to Stephen.starliper@k12.wv.us no later than Monday September 30^th. Unlimited entries per team. Let me know as soon as possible please!

Schedule: Course will be open October 4^th from 4 pm to 7 pm. Course walk will take place at 7:45 am October 5^th.

High School Girls (5k)- 9 am. High School Boys (5k)- 9:45 am. Middle School Girls (3k)- 10:30 am. Middle School Boys (3k)- 11:15 am. Awards to follow! No JV races, those athletes can run in the Varsity races.

Awards: Top 5 Individuals in each race will receive awards. 1^st and 2^nd place teams will receive awards.

Lodging: There are cabins and camping areas at Bluestone State Park. Cabins have a check-in time of 4 pm and a checkout time of 10 am. You may look at availability and book yours today by visiting www.wvstateparks.com or give them a call at 304-466-2805.

Food: Fruit will be available for all athletes, volunteers, and coaches after the race. Hinton, WV. has The Market, Dairy Queen, Kirk’s, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, and Subway.
