Coaches:

Welcome to the 2019 “Doddridge County Invitational”.  We are glad that you are here.

A few notes for you to consider:

1)      A reminder:  There will be no JV races today!  Run all of your “kids” together in their respective divisions.  Only the top 7 will be counted in the scoring.

2)      Enclosed in your packets are numbers for your runners.  Please check for accuracy and make sure that the runners get their correct numbers.

3)      We should have results available after the meet, but if not, results will be posted on the RunWV website as soon as possible.

4)      If you have any problems, questions, or comments, please let us know (Craig Kellar, Amy Spurlock, Josh Weekley, or Brent Cottrill).  We want this meet to be a good experience for everyone.  We encourage your input to improve this meet!

5)      Awards (Teams 1st & 2nd and individuals 1st – 20th) will be given out at the conclusion of the meet at the stage area.

6)      The entire high school course is painted with white arrows.  The middle school course is the same as the high school course (white), except in two places. When the MS runners go around the gas well, they will briefly leave the HS course by following orange arrows for about 40 meters. This orange connector will put them back on the HS course.  The runners will then follow the HS course into and through the creek and then follow orange for about 30 meters to get back on the HS course as it goes up Oak Tree Hill to the finish. The high school course is a little short of 5000m long and the middle school course is very close to 3000m long.

7)      There are restrooms located on the side of the main building.  There are also restrooms located in the small building past the stage near the “counsel circle” and at the new “Lone Pine Campground on the other side of the bridge.  Runners are urged to use the pool's dressing rooms to change clothes and/or use the restroom.

8)      Joe Gonzalez will be the starter and referee for today’s meet. He will be assisted by Diane Kinney.

9)      You will be supplied with a trash bag for the meet.  We would appreciate any help with the cleanup of your team’s area.  Thanks.

10)  There will be 20 high school and 19 middle schools involved in today’s meet!  (As of Sunday evening).

11)  Runners need to stay out of any deep grass near the edges of the marked course.  It is not safe due to holes, rocks, etc.

12)  Runners should generally follow the arrows and stay out of the road.  There are a couple places that they must cross the road, though.  HS runners will be allowed to run on the blacktop path that heads downhill toward the barn if they want to.

13)  Concessions will be available at the pavilion near the starting line.
