Coaches:

Welcome to the 2018 “Class AA/A Region II Cross Country Meet”!

A few notes for you to consider:

1)      Enclosed in your packets are two course maps and numbers for your runners.  Please check for accuracy and make sure that the runners get their numbers.  Also, make sure that their names & grades are correct.  If they qualify for the state meet, this info will become info for the state meet and state meet program.

2)      We will have results available soon after the meet.  Results will also be posted on the RunWV website as soon as possible.

3)      If you have any problems or questions please let us know (Craig Kellar-Meet Management, Josh Weekley-Entries, or Brent Cottrill-Course Questions).

4)      Custom Medals for placers 1-20 (1st & 2nd team “All-Region”) will be given out at the conclusion of the meet at the stage area.  There is also a team plaque from the WVSSAC for the team champion in both the boys’ & girls’ divisions. Also, we have a runner-up plaque for each division, as well.

5)      The entire high school course is painted with white arrows.  Ignore orange arrows!  They were for a middle school meet. Please instruct your runners to run entirely on the marked course for safety, as well as for fairness!

6)      Athletes are asked to dress and use the restrooms in the swimming pool dressing rooms. For the rest of us, there are restrooms located on the side of the main building and in the small building past the stage near the “counsel circle”.

7)      Joe Gonzalez and Justin Hayes will be the starters for today’s meet. Mr. Gonzalez will also serve as the referee.

8)      You will be supplied with a trash bag for the meet.  We would appreciate help with the clean-up of your team’s area.  Thanks.

9)      Where the painted lines are beside the “black topped” path, it is permissible to run on the road or on the path.

10)  The course is changed slightly from that used at our Doddridge Invitational.  Mainly, we will not run “Big Bertha”.  Instead, we will run around the schoolhouse, twice.  Also, we have altered the course from the LKC Meet to avoid some of the muddiest areas.  The maps in your packet will reflect the changes.

11)  Concessions and tee-shirts will be available for purchase under the main building.

12)  There are also information sheets for the state meet in your packet.

13)  There will be a mandatory Coaches' Meeting at the stage at 4:00pm!!!

14)  Please have your runners on the starting line at least 10 minutes before race time. We need to count runners and teams to let everyone know the number of individuals and teams that will qualify.

Time Schedule:  4:30pm-Boys Race, 5:15pm-Girls Race, 6:15pm-Awards

Good luck in today’s meet!
