2018
Class AA/A Region II Cross Country Meet
Doddridge County Park
Dear Cross-Country Coach,
Doddridge
County High School is pleased to host the 2018 Class AA/A Region II Cross
Country Meet.
Date: Thursday, October 18
Schedule: 4:30pm Boys’
Race
Awards: Custom Region I Medals for the 1st 20 finishers
in each division.
WVSSAC
Plaque for the team champion in each division.
Qualifying
for the State Meet:
To qualify as an INDIVIDUAL: Each
region will qualify 20% of the total
number of (AA & A) contestants that start the regional race to the state
meet, inclusive of those individuals that
qualified as a team qualifier. A minimum of 10 individuals will qualify from
each region. Regular math rounding (.5 & up, round up, below .5, round
down) will apply. Please note: Individual qualifying is not separated by classes!
To qualify as a TEAM: This depends on how many
complete teams (5 or more runners) start the race in your regional. This
year, for the first time, these team qualifying standards will apply to “AA”
schools, as a separate group and to “A” schools as a separate group: If only 1 full team in your classification starts in your regional, it qualifies.
If 2-5 teams in your classification start
at your regional, the top 2 qualify. If 6-9 teams in your classification start at your regional, the top 3
qualify. If more than 10 teams in
your classification start at your regional, the top 4 qualify.
Course: For the most part, we will run our regular course minus
the creek crossing.
Also,
we will not run "Big Bertha Hill", but rather "Tree-line
Hill" beside her.
Miscellaneous: 1) Each school is allowed to enter up to 10 runners for each race, but will only be allowed to run
7 in the meet. Entries must be done using
"www.RaceTimeEntry.com". Mailed or faxed entries will not be
permitted! We will pull entries on Sunday, October 14. 2) Please make sure that the names of the
athletes that you enter are on your eligibility certificate and that they are
spelled correctly. 3) Admission ($6.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, as
required by WVSSAC) will be charged for spectators at the top of the hill. See
you on October 18th!
