Cross Country Advancement Proposal Passes

The Cross Country Advancement Proposal put forth by the Coaches' Committee has officially passed the Board of Control.

The August Interscholastic was updated today to reflect the change. The change had been noted previously in the "Office Echos" section of The Interscholastic, but I had missed it because I lazily only looked at the Cross Country section.

Essentially, this proposal guarantees that at least one Class A team will advance from each Region. Though Class A and Class AA will still run together, the team advancement criteria will be applied separately. A generic example would be that a Region with 12 complete Class A-AA teams would previously have advanced the top 4 teams. If that Region has 5 Class A teams and 7 Class AA teams, then the top 2 Class A teams and the top 3 Class AA teams would advance. Individual advancement was not impacted by this proposal.
