2016 AAA Region IV Cross-Country Championship

Time Schedule: 

4:30 Coaches’ Meeting (Steve Caldwell will be our meet official and starter)

5:00   Girls Race

5:45   Boys Race

Awards Ceremony to follow.  Awards will take place by the band bleachers that are sitting on the facility building side of the football field.

Awards:  1st place WVSSAC plaque, 1-10 individual medal

Entries:  Each team may enter up to 10 runners in each race, with 7 allowed to compete.  Entries are to be completed on www.racetimeentry.com before 8am on Monday, October 17th.   All athletes must be on your WVSSAC Eligibility sheet.  Make sure your rosters are up to date on the WVSSAC website.

Tent Set-up:  Teams may set up their tents in the bleachers at the football stadium or down in the starting field, on the football field side of the field. 

Spectators:  No spectators will be allowed in the wooded areas of the course.  The course will be closed at 5:00, and nobody but that athletes competing in the current race will be allowed on the course after 5:00pm. 

Admission Price:  The WVSSAC sets the admission price at $6.00 adult/5.00 student

Qualifying for State Meet: 

Regions with the following number of teams who begin the regional race will qualify the indicated number of teams.

1-5 teams – 2 qualifier(s)

6-9 teams – 3 qualifiers

10 plus teams – 4 qualifiers

Each region will qualify 20% of the number of contestants that start the regional race to the state meet inclusive of those individuals that qualified as a team qualifier with a minimum of 10 individuals qualifying from each region. Regular math rounding (.5 & up round up, below .5 round down) will apply.

*Please be aware that Huntington High School’s dismissal time is at 3:20.  Teams are welcome to arrive as early as they need, but we ask that spectators wait until 3:45 to begin arriving to allow our parking lots to clear of student vehicles.
