Welcome to the 2016 “Doddridge County Invitational”. We are glad that you are here.
A few notes for you
to consider:
1) A reminder: There will be no JV races today! Run all of your “kids” together in their respective divisions. Only the top 7 will be counted in the scoring.
2) Enclosed in your packets are course maps and numbers for your runners. Please check for accuracy and make sure that the runners get their numbers.
3) We should have results available after the meet, but if not, results will be posted on the RunWV website as soon as possible.
4) If you have any problems or questions please let us know (Craig Kellar, Lynne Kelley, Josh Weekley, or Brent Cottrill). We want this meet to be a good experience for everyone. We encourage your input to improve this meet!
5) Awards (Teams 1st & 2nd and individuals 1st – 20th) will be given out at the conclusion of the meet at the stage area.
6) The entire high school course is painted with white arrows. The middle school course is the same as the high school course (white) until the runners turn around shortly after they cross the new bridge (approximately 1.1 miles into the course). This is where it “breaks off” from the high school course. From this point on, the middle school runners will follow the orange arrows! The high school course is 5000m long and the middle school course is 3000m long.
7) There are restrooms located on the side of the main building. There are also restrooms located in the small building past the stage near the “counsel circle”. Runners are asked to use the pool's dressing rooms to change clothes and/or use the restroom.
8) Craig Kellar will be the starter for today’s meet.
9) You will be supplied with a trash bag for the meet. We would appreciate any help with the cleanup of your team’s area. Thanks.
10) There will be 19 high school and 17 middle schools involved in today’s meet! (As of Sunday evening) There are also 645 registered runners.
11) Runners need to stay out of any deep grass near the edges of the marked course. It is not safe due to holes, rocks, etc.
12) Runners will run a short distance in the main park road at the bottom of the first hill and will have to run in the side road leading to the bridge, but other than that, they will not be running in the road, but beside it. HS runners will have to cross the main park road, twice. HS runners will be allowed to run on the blacktop path that heads downhill toward the barn.
13) Concessions will be available at the pavilion near the starting line.
