Cabell Midland Requests Feedback

Coaches,

Now that the 1st St Mary's Medical Center Saturday Night XC Festival is in the books, I want to reach out to coaches and get some feedback. Our goal is to make your experiences at Cabell Midland very enjoyable for you, your athletes and fans. I know it's impossible to please everybody, but we still aim to do so.

Changing the meet to the evening/night was definitely a good choice, especially the weather I was battling during the day preparing for your arrival. The weather was BRUTAL and casualties could have been record breaking or close to what we had a few years back. Attempting to host a night meet and setting the lighting system was an event in itself. Testing the system with all the lights Friday night and positioning them to ensure safe environment for the runners took a lot of time and making a run to Lowe's early Saturday for more portable tree stands, I think we covered the course pretty good. We will add an additional diesel portable set up top to eliminate a few tree light stands and give better lighting.

Also, our computer timing system (chip, finishlynx, & networking) decided not to play friendly but with some quick "Ninja" finagling we managed to get results out for top result purposes. There are a couple of runners who finished towards the back we have to add and get everybody in results. Our apologies ....

There are a few teams who forgot to turn in the chips for the runners not competing, so please mail them to me and avoid the $25 per chip fee:

Email with your thoughts & suggestions because I value your opinion and want to make the meet better for next year. We will take every response under consideration and attempt to make any corrections if possible and what is best for everybody.

Best of Luck the rest of the season and hope to see you on October 31st for the WV State XC Championship.
