REGION I AND WILD AND WET INFORMATION

I want to mention a couple of things for these two upcoming events.

1. For the Regional Meet I am asking you to reregister for the meet. I made a mistake and listed the entry information to be placed on Time To Enter. I should have listed it to be placed or entered on Race Time Entry. Coach Chris Parsons contacted me and ask that I make this correction. Please register your team at www.racetimeentry.com

I apologize for creating extra work for you but appreciate your help in getting these entries recorded on the proper website.

2. Many of you who have attended the Wild and Wet over the last several years will remember the mementos we used to give to each team. It started with a rock with just the name of the school on it and progressed over the years into a very nice item which each team could take home.

These items were painted by Chandra Dunn, one of our high school students. She graduated and attended WVU. Because of her schedule she was not able to make them last year. Not only was she attending WVU but was married the first week of September. Three weeks ago she was killed in a tragic automobile accident.

The Cameron Cross Country Team and parents will be honoring her at our meet on October 3 by wearing “PINK” which was her favorite color. We would like to invite you and your team to help us remember Chandra by wearing something “PINK”. It could be socks, headband, etc. Something which will conform to the XC rules.

3. In looking at the entries for the Wild and Wet I noticed some schools had a very large list of athletes. This is not a problem (we would love to have as many athletes out for our teams) but in preparing for our meet it would be good for us to have accurate figures for race preparation. Packets need to be prepared and if you have a large team and only half will attend, it would be appreciated if you would enter those athletes who will be attending. Looking at the entries for all races there are over 700 athletes entered. Accurate figures for participating will help us provide a successful meet for all.
