REGION IV A-AA Cross Country Championship

When: Thursday, October 18th, 2012

Where: The Region IV A-AA Cross Country Championship will be hosted by Nicholas County High School at the Battle Run Campground/Beach in Summersville, WV. The course will be the same ran at the Battle Run Invitational in September.

Event Schedule:

4:00 p.m. - Varsity Boys Championship Race (5000 Meters)

4:45 p.m. - Varsity Girls Championship Race (5000 Meters)

5:30 p.m. - Awards Ceremony

Awards: The top ten individuals will receive medals.

The winning boys and girls varsity teams will receive regional championship plaques supplied by the W.V.S.S.A.C. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive trophies.

State Meet Qualification Standards: The top ten individuals in each race will automatically qualify for the State Championship at Cabell Midland High School on Saturday, October 27th. In addition to the individual qualifiers, the following number of teams that start the regional race will qualify for the State Championship: 1-3 complete teams = 1 team, 4-6 complete teams = 2 teams, 7-9 complete teams = 3 teams, 10 or more teams = 4 teams.

Directions: From I-79 Flatwoods, WV: Follow I-79 South. Merge onto US 19 South via exit 57 Summersville/Beckley (34.4 miles). Turn right onto WV-129 (landmarks at this intersection-Freedom Homes & U-Save Gas Station). Follow WV-129 for 3 miles. Follow signs towards campground and beach. Turn Right and parking will be 0.2 miles from turn.

Concessions: Light concessions and T-Shirts will be available.

Admission Fee: There will also be an admission fee for spectators of $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. This fee is set by the W.V.S.S.A.C. and will help pay for meet costs.

Entry Method: All schools must enter their athletes using www.timetoenter.com. Faxed or mailed entries will not be accepted. Complete instructions on how to use timetoenter.com can be found on the site. Electronic entries must be received by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5th, 2012. Coaches are asked to enter ten individuals (seven varsity runners and three alternates) per race.
