Post-Season Opportunities

As usual, there are several opportunities for Cross Country runners to extend their seasons.

November 17th - Battle of the Potomac, www.BattleXC.com, pits runners from West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC against each other in a team competition. This is the 7th year for this meet, and Dathan Ritzenhein will be honored at the meet and serve as the Special Guest Starter. The meet is held at Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, MD.

November 17th - Mideast Meet of Champions, http://www.oatccc.com/crosscountry/Mideast/WebPages/mehome.html, West Virginia hasn't participated in this meet in recent years. It is structured similarly to Battle of the Potomac. This meet pits the top Seniors from West Virginia, against those from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky have been "sometimes" participants. A complete team is considered to be 10 Seniors. The meet is held at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering, OH.

November 24th - Footlocker South, www.FootlockerCC.com, is the most popular destination for our runners. This afford the opportunity to qualify for Footlocker Nationals. There is a team competition as well, but it is clearly secondary to individual honors. The meet is held at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC.

November 24th - Nike Cross Southeast, http://www.runnerspace.com/nxnse, is a team-based meet that will also send runners on to the Footlocker Nationals. States included in this meet are West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Washington DC. This meet advances teams to the Nike Cross Nationals. You can compete in this meet as an individual and earn your way to Nike Cross Nationals. The meet is held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
