INVITATIONAL SEPTEMBER 22ND
PARKING: We seem to have
helped the parking situation. We will be using the road in front of the school
when the lot is filled. Please remind parents that they can't park in
driveways, yards, or on the road to the housing project. If you are on the road
in front of the school, it is 1/2 mile long, so you may be walking to the
school. We will attempt to help anyone who needs a ride. If you have
grandparents or older people who have trouble with long distances, please unload
at the top of the hill at the entrance to the school and then go park your car.
If they are handicapped, we will find a place for them on the school grounds.
We will be using every available space to park as many cars as we can on the
property.
T-SHIRTS: We will have shirts
for sale.
ADMISSION: $5.00 for adults
CONCESSION: Will be available.
Coaches will be provided a meal.
SCHOOL
AREA:
We are renting Portapots. We will try to limit the
number of kids in the school if possible. The floor in the school is made of a
special material and spikes can not be worn for any reason. We will use the gym
for awards.
PACKETS: Coaches--I ran out
of numbers because of the high number of athletes that ran on the 5th and the
number who have entered this race. A few of your runners will have the tear tag
only like they use at the Magnolia Mudhole race. Just
make sure that you don't pin through the wrong hole on either type of tag that
you have. Packets will be at the concession stand for pick up.
TENTS: We would like for
the tents to be placed on either side of the outfield fence area. There is a
gate in the middle that you can enter to get to the other side. We can have a
couple tents on the east side of the playground also. If you attended the
middle school race, the tents being away from the school helped the parents and
coaches get through the area easier.
TIMING: I am attempting to
use the new sprint 8 timer that we bought. It will be the first time we have
tried to transmit times. If it malfunctions or I do something wrong we will
have the scoring completed as quickly as possible and will have to add the
times later. The scoring will be correct, you just may
have to wait to see your time on runwv.com.
JV
RACES:
We will not have a JV for the high school. We would like for your
to put your first seven up and any JV runners in the back. For the HS races
there will be approximately 120 runners in each race. The MS will have a JV
combined race for safety reasons.
COACHES
MEETING:
At 8:40AM coaches are asked to meet the starter at the line. Please attend this
meeting so that you can hear anything about the course that may be a trouble
spot or area of concern. The Middle School meeting will be at the conclusion of
the HS races.
