Eleventh Annual Wild and Wet Invitational

            The Cameron High School Cross-Country team invites you to participate in the Wild and Wet Invitational.  So named because of the four water crossings and several log jumps.  This course is very spectator friendly with at least two miles of the race visible from one point.  Coaches will be able to monitor their athletes without restriction.  Approximately one mile will be run on trails and the rest on a partially built golf course. There will be an open race, junior high race, and varsity race.  There will be no reserve race.

 

Times:             9:15 a.m.          Adult Open 5K  [entry fee $15.00]   (non high school runners)

 

                      10:00 a.m.          Girls jr. high-middle school 3K -- Medals    1-15

                      10:20 a.m.          Boys jr. high-middle school 3K -- Medals    1-15

 

                      11:00 a.m.          Women’s Varsity   5K  Plaques 1-5

Location:        Anderson's Golf Course (future site).  From Moundsville travel Route 250 South 18 miles to Dragon Field at Clouston.  Turn right across bridge next to Methodist Church and drive two miles.  You can't miss the course.

Course:  It is flat (golf course) with four stream crossings.  There are two sections which are fairly steep after crossing the creek.  The approximate one-mile section in the woods (an old logging road, which has been groomed) is from 100M to 200M above the creek on a bench.  The woods are mostly flat or downhill.

 

Scoring:  Top 5 will count for team score.  Individuals will be removed for team scoring. 

 

Entry Fee:  $30 per team ($60 per school), $5 per individual (if under 5) and $1 for each jr. high or middle school runner.  Checks payable to Cameron High School Athletic Department (due with entry).  Please fax your eligibility sheets to the Attention of Jack Hart, AD Cameron High School (304) 686-3510.  Please return entry by October 10, 2011. 

 

Concession:  Food and drinks will be available near the Start - Finish area.

T-Shirts will be sold near the finish line area.

Sanctioned:  West Virginia.

From the West Virginia area you would travel Route 250 to Dragon Field at Clouston.  At Dragon Field you will turn right across the bridge next to the Methodist Church and travel 2 miles--you will not miss the course.  From Wheeling:  25 miles; Moundsville 18 miles; Waynesburg 30 miles, Morgantown 55 miles and Fairmont 55 miles.
