Cross-country runners heading south
to Foot Locker Regionals
November
28, 2009 – Some
of the top high school, middle school and elementary school cross-country
runners from West Virginia
will be heading south to North
Carolina in a few weeks for the Foot Locker South Regional
Cross Country Championships, scheduled for Saturday, November 28th,
at Mc Alpine Creek Park. This meet will be an opportunity for local-area
runners to race against their counterparts from sixteen other Southern States. States
Competing In The South Regional: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and U.S.
citizens in Overseas Military Installations.
The Foot
Locker Cross Country Championships are a series of annual cross country running
races held in various regions of the United States to determine the
premier cross country runner in various age groups, but mainly serves to find
the best prep (high school) cross country athlete in the country.
There will
be Junior Races - 10 & under boys and girls and 11& 12 boys and girls
they will run 3000 meters. 13 & 14 boys and girls will run 5000 meters.
Open Race and Masters Race they will run 5000 meters. The Open race is for any
runner eighteen years old and over. The Masters Race is open to any runner
forty years old and over.

love to see West Virginia
send a contingent of runners from around the State to the Foot Locker South Regional
Meet,” said Coach McMillion of McMillion
Racing.
