In a surprising and very disappointing move, the WVSSAC Board did not approve any additional qualifiers for the State Cross Country Meet. To review, there were several proposal each aimed at increasing the number of teams and/or individuals that would advance to the State Meet. The thought from coaches following the committee meetings was that Butch Powell would present what he felt was the best proposal to the Board for approval.

This rejection of the proposals means we'll be left once again with outstanding teams and individuals sitting at home. The goal of the State Meet should be to get the Best Teams and Best Individuals into the State Meet, but once again, this goal has been shot down in favor of the status quo.
