Elkins' Letitia Propst was named the Gatorade West Virginia girls cross country runner of the year Thursday.
The 5-foot-3 sophomore, who earned the Gatorade state honor for the second straight year, captured her second straight Class AAA individual state championship this past season in a meet-record time of 18 minutes, 28.14 seconds.
Propst is a two-time first-team all-state selection and has maintained a 3.88 grade-point average. She is now a finalist for the Gatorade national award, which will be announced in January.
