Ashland Invitational     

 

On behalf of Ashland Paul Blazer High School, we are extending an invitation for your school to be a part of the 6th annual Ashland Invitational on Thursday, October 9th, 2008. 

 

The course is run entirely on trails and grass and is a combination of rolling hills and flat areas, which should provide for exciting races.  The infamous “HEARTBREAK HILL” is a large part of the course’s popularity. The high school races will be 5,000 meters, the junior high/middle school races will be 3,000 meters, and the elementary races will be 1,600 meters.  There will be a small admission fee for spectators.  Changing facilities and restrooms will be on site.  There will be a large area for school tents and parking.  In the event of inclement weather, various buildings are available for cover for participants as well as spectators.  Exclusive Ashland Invitational T-shirts will be on sale.  Hot and cold concessions will be available.  The awards’ ceremony will be next to the start/finish area.

 

Entry fees for our meet are $40 per High School Varsity Team,  $30 per Junior High/Middle School Team, $20 per Elementary Team.  There is a $7 per runner fee for all other individuals.  There will be a $100 per school maximum fee regardless of the number of teams entered.  Please make checks payable to: Ashland Paul Blazer Cross Country and mail to Phillip Caudill-Head Cross Country Coach, 2800 Kansas St. Ashland, KY 41102.  The deadline for entry applications and fees is OCTOBER 6, 2008.  No entries after the deadline and no refunds. 

 

NOTICE:  Any school whose entry fee has not been received by the day of the race will not be allowed to participate.  “Checks in the mail” do not constitute received payment.

  • There will be unlimited runners per team allowed in all races.
